C.J.Williams is a Telford based
funeral directors built on five generations of experience to provide
some of the finest facilities in the country and have established
a national and international reputation for excellence.
The C.J. Williams Funeral Service
head office at Dawley Bank can trace their roots back to the 1880's
when Simeon Breeze opened a carpenters and black-smiths in Dawley
which incorporated funeral services.
His son John Breeze took over the
business assisted by his daughter Kathleen Williams after it had
moved to the Dawley Bank site at the turn of the century. Simeon's
great grandson and Kathleen's son , director Christopher Williams
now runs the vastly expanded business with his wife Carol, son Simon
and daughter Louise.
Christopher Williams served his
apprenticeship as a carpenter and joiner with a Wellington based
firm and took over the family business at 17 years of age and was
the youngest funeral director in Britain. Since then the business
has specialized in arranging funerals and has looked to new horizons
to expand services.
Following the purchase in 1974
of the local carriage masters business of John Sheward and Sons,
a joint venture with Mr. Williams' brother David, the business now
has a fleet of four hearses and five limousines. (see below)
In 1992 the existing business of
John Williams in Shifnal was acquired and still runs as a separate
entity but shares the same service.
The C.J. Williams Funeral Service
also employs a staff of 27 full and part time workers and operates
seven-days with 24-hour emergency cover.
Family commitment and recent massive
investment mean that we are confident that The C.J.Williams Funeral
Service can guarantee the same unrivalled service throughout our
second century of operation. |
