Arranging a Funeral

Charitable donations

You may wish to receive donations for a charity of your choice in memory of your loved one in lieu of, or in addition to, floral tributes.

It may be that your loved one indicated a particular favourite charity, or that you need to consider an appropriate charity, perhaps reflecting the recent illness or circumstances.

We have extensive information about both local and national charities and can furnish you with this when discussing arrangements.

It is usual to publish the name of the charity within the newspaper announcement, together with the way in which donations may be given.

We will provide a sealed collection box at the funeral service venue for the secure collection of donations and it is usual for us to return them to you immediately after the service, together with attendance cards and orders of service remaining.

If the funeral service is taking place in a church or chapel, we may need to discuss the collection of donations with the clergy, as some churches have their own strict rules regarding collections.

You can also make an on-line charitable donation in memory of a loved one or friend by clicking the link to Memory Giving.
